Dr. Claudio Meneses is an Associate Professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He is a graduate Bachelor of Agriculture Sciences with an orientation in Horticultural from the Faculty of Agricultural Science at Universidad de Chile. In 2011 he obtained a Doctor in Systems Agricultural, Forestry and food from the Lleida University and CRAG (UAB-UB-IRTA-CSIC). In 2011-2021, he developed as a Professor and Principal Investigator of Plant Genetic and Genomic Lab in the Center for Plant Biotechnology.

He is currently the head of the Agrogenomics Lab at the FAIF/FCB at PUC and Principal Investigator of the Millennium Nucleus for the Development of Super Adaptable Plants (MN-SAP).

He expects to identify candidate genes and molecular markers associated with abiotic stresses tolerance and fruit quality traits, especially in peach, grape, sweet cherry and avocado. For this, we are using the integration of omics data obtained from DNA-Seq, RNA-seq and Whole Genome Bisulphite-seq strategies, among others
